After receiving over 100 entries, the Richmond Public Library has named the winners of its annual Chinese Couplet Contest.

The top three winners each received a trophy, a certificate, gifts, and a copy of the couplet—including their own second line—written in Chinese by a local calligrapher. There were also honourable mentions and encouragement awards.

The winners gathered with library staff, judges, and prize sponsors this week to celebrate with poetry and predictions for 2022. The library looks forward to bringing back its annual contest again next year.
