Richmond has many incredible volunteers, some of whom are being singled out for their efforts as nominees for the annual Volunteers Are Stars Awards.
Among them are a volunteer whose impact has been felt from the Steveston Karate Club to the Richmond Food Bank; a group of teens who help the Richmond Public Library develop and deliver youth programming; and a Grade 10 student who volunteers with local organizations and launched her own community initiative.
While the individual accomplishments highlight a commitment to service that goes above and beyond, the nominees also collectively represent the strength of volunteering across the city. Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives presents the awards annually.
