For more than 60 years, the Steveston Community Centre and Library has been at the heart of the community—a place where neighbours became friends, families celebrated milestones, and people of all ages gathered to learn, play, and grow together. Soon, this beloved centre will close its doors to make way for a brand-new facility.

Before we say a heartfelt goodbye, the city is inviting residents to share their favourite memories of this much-loved community space.

Whether it was a fitness class that made a lasting impact, a community event you’ll never forget, a Storytime that sparked your child’s imagination, or simply the friendly faces that made you feel at home—whatever your memory, we want to hear your Steveston story.

We encourage you to share your memories and photos online at LetsTalkRichmond.ca/StevestonStories. Your stories will become part of an interactive memory wall, where the community can come together to reflect, celebrate and remember. Be sure to visit often to read and “like” memories shared by others. Together, these stories will help honour the legacy of the centre as we look ahead to a new exciting chapter in Steveston’s community life.

Submissions will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025.
