In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, wearing a non-medical mask or face covering when you can’t maintain a two-metre distance from others is mandatory.
The Government of Canada offers the following tips on how they can safely be used:
• Ensure your mask is made of at least two layers of tightly woven fabric
• Wash your hands or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer before and after touching the mask or face covering
• Use the ear loops or ties to put on and remove the mask
• Make sure your nose and mouth are fully covered
